Tanzania is a beautiful country. Its landscape and people make it a unique location to undertake any sport.
Whether it is:-
- Early morning training runs past giraffes and zebra to the shores of Lake Manyara or on the slopes on Mount Kilimanjaro.
- A football match against a local village team.
- Horse riding expeditions in West Kilimanjaro
- Ttreks in the Ngorongoro Highlands.
Tanzania has some incredible sporting adventures to offer those who seek them out. We believe that sport is a language that helps peoples communicate throughout the world. Regardless of class, culture, race or religion, training and running with fellow athletes, playing and competing against Tanzanian football, hockey, and rugby or netball teams leads to a different view of another culture as well as having fun and making new friends.
Coming To Africa Adventures are committed to sport as a way to enhance communication and improve the quality of facilities available to local sportsmen and women. |

East Africa is renowned for the quality of her endurance athletes. Kenya has consistently dominated endurance events since the 1968 Olympics, easily qualifying as the most successful Olympic country when resources and population are taken into consideration. Although not having achieved anywhere near the same level of success, Tanzania has a good number of world-class endurance athletes such as Francis Naali, Commonwealth Games Marathon Champion, and John Yuda, Bronze Medallist in the 10,000 metres at the same games in Manchester 2002. This is an excellent return for a country, which could only afford to send a team of eight to the games. With better investment, we believe that Tanzania will produce more world-class athletes and your running holiday can help achieve this. Coming To Africa Adventures is proud to be working with the athletes and coaches of the Cheetah Athletics Club. The Cheetah Athletics Club (CAC) is a progressive running club, whose aim is to create athletic opportunities and quality training programmes for local and visiting members. The Chairman of CAC is 1998 Commonwealth Marathon Silver Medallist, Simon Mlashani while the club also counts current Commonwealth Marathon Champion Francis Naali, Kuala Lumpur Marathon Bronze Medallist Gerway Suja as well as some excellent up and coming young athletes as members. By joining our training camps in West Kilimanjaro, not only will you be able to access warm weather, altitude training, you will be making new friends and helping to fund the training of future elite athletes.
