Tanzania has an incredible array of wildlife, home to 20 per cent of Africa's large mammal population with a quarter of its surface area given over to national parks and conservation areas, there is probably no better place to undertake a game viewing safari. Tanzania is probably the undisputed king of safari. Kenya and South Africa may have marketed themselves better, to the extent that many people actually believe Serengeti and Kilimanjaro are located in Kenya, but Tanzania has the jewels in the safari crown.

Whether it's following the Great Migration through the Serengeti, tracking chimpanzees in their natural habitat in Gombe Stream or Mahale Mountains National Parks or taking a boat safari in Selous past crocodiles and hippos, each of Tanzania's National Parks and Conservation Areas offer something different. Add to this the 1112 recorded species of bird life, makes Tanzania a positive cornucopia of mammal and bird life.
